State of the World's Children

UNICEF's annual State of the World's Children report was released worldwide in January. The report reveals women in the world's poorest countries are 300 times more likely to die during pregnancy or childbirth than women in Australia and other developed countries. This alarming disparity represents one of the greatest indicators of the gulf between rich and poor in our world today and some of Australia's closest neighbours are recording the highest rates.
