Malaria Safe Dreams Appeal
You can help US provide A mosquito net for EVERY child WHO NEEDS ONE.
A CHIld dies every 30 seconds from malaria.
The mosquitoes that carry malaria usually bite after nightfall – between dusk and dawn. The most effective way to prevent mosquitoes from biting is for children to sleep under an insecticide-treated bed net. However, not all of the children who need these nets have them..
It doesn’t have to be this way. UNICEF and its partners are determined to provide a mosquito net for every child who needs one by the end of 2010. We are already the world’s largest distributor of these nets - in 2009, we distributed close to 43 million of them to 49 countries.
We are already seeing a decline in malaria-related deaths as a result.
Everything UNICEF is able to do is thanks to people like you – without your donations we wouldn’t be able to save as many lives.
So if we are going to provide a mosquito net for every child who needs one, we need your help today. Malaria is an easily preventable disease and with your support, we can stop malaria from taking the lives of thousands of innocent children every year.
A MOSQUITO NET CAN BE ALL IT TAKES:
