"I decided to remember UNICEF in my Will because it is the last thing I can do to support its work. I have also asked my family to ask for donations to UNICEF, rather than flowers, at my funeral.

Before the measles vaccination was developed my first daughter died at the age of three from broncho-pneumonia as a complication of measles, so I am especially conscious of the threat that this disease poses to millions of children around the world.

I am passionate about the need to immunise children against what are now preventable diseases and I made my first donation to UNICEF in response to an Immunisation Appeal – partly in memory of the daughter I had lost and partly in gratitude for the survival of my other children.

I feel such sorrow for mothers who lose their children and by supporting UNICEF I can help to save many young lives.”
